Building a Bicycle Paradise

From Michelle Dibblee, Senior Organizer

I'll bet you just can't wait to find out when that new bicycle path you keep hearing about will be open for riding! Well, you're in luck. Join Bike Walk Twin Cities and Transit for Livable Communities members and staff for updates on the 46 projects funded by Bike Walk Twin Cities. Meet fellow bicyclists, share food and drink, and find out what you can do to support these projects as they move through city process.

Wednesday, June 24th, 5:30-7:30pm at Bedlam Theatre. (Click here for directions)
We'll put out the first round of appetizers, and you can purchase drinks and additional appetizers as you desire! "Program" (loosely defined!) will start around 6:15 and last for 30-40 minutes.

This will be the first in a series of events for cycling fans (since as we all know, the topics are both endless and endlessly intriguing!). What do you want to know more about?

  • Creative solutions to tricky intersections. Bike Walk Twin Cities brought a cracker-jack team into town to take a look at some of the worst intersections for cyclists.
  • More and better connections to transit. Bike Walk Twin Cities funded a study of transit connections for bicyclists and walkers around the cities.
  • What we do with all the data we collect on bicycle crashes, the number of riders, etc. etc. etc. ... Bike Walk Twin Cities will be preparing reports to help focus resources on mode shift, improving safety, and other necessary supports for cycling.
  • How to work with your local neighborhood or government. We've got experts on staff who have decades of experience in that realm!

So come on over to Bedlam Theatre (on the West Bank, right near the Cedar Ave light rail station) and join the fun. Questions? Call Michelle at 651-767-0298 x110.
