EPA to Join National Smart Growth Efforts

Great news out of D.C. this morning, via our friends at Transportation for America:
There’s some exciting news out of Washington, DC to report this morning. US EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson announced that the US EPA is joining with the departments of transportation and housing and urban development in a special partnership to work together to support smart growth and more livable, sustainable communities across America.

This is fantastic news. All too often, government agencies focus on their own issue areas. By working collaboratively with other agencies, it sends a strong message: housing, transportation, and the environment are so inextricably linked that it no longer makes sense to work on these issues in isolation.
